The Young and the Restless... NOT The Dead and the Restless
April 12, 2015
Here’s my message for the writers and powers that be of Y&R: The name of the show is “The Young and the Restless.” It is NOT “The Dead and the Restless!” Why do you keep killing the young people off the show?
Not only did you kill Courtney, but you did it on her wedding day, no less! Courtney was absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress. Noah is a handsome hunk. They were a knockout, beautiful couple for sure. We would have loved to see a happy occasion for these two young people. Why is it that Y&R never has one totally happy occasion from beginning to end? Couldn’t we see just one happy wedding, gala, or event in Genoa City in the course of a year? (How about one a month?! Oh, let’s get reckless and ask for one truly happy scene a week!)
Courtney was more believable as a cop back when she was a kick-boxing, undercover detective. When Courtney went along with the crowd in hiding the murder of Austin to protect Summer, she certainly threw her police career out the window. Once again Y&R missed the possibilities that decision could have generated.
Courtney would have been a Newman. She was beautiful and smart and could have had any career she wanted with the Newman riches to back her up. If she really loved the police work, she could have started her own private detective agency and hired her lackadaisical husband Noah as her partner. She could have schooled him in kick-boxing and whipped him into shape!
There would have been Newman grandchildren for Victor to influence. We never met Courtney’s extended family. Surely there would have been skeletons in the closet for this blonde beauty to drag out and entertain!
I must repeat: The name of the show is “The Young and the Restless.” It is NOT “The Dead and the Restless!” Why do you keep killing the young people off the show?Feel free to post your reactions to "Comments From The Peanut Gallery" on our
