Was Rey Hiding In The Backseat?

I watched the beginning of the show twice and STILL think I saw this.  Did it look like Victoria and Nikki drove up to the ranch, lamented about staff and animals possibly being inside, and then Rey scared the living daylights out of them by popping up in the back seat of their car?!  That just seemed odd to me.  Then again, maybe I need an eye exam.  LOL!

I'm guessing Rey jumped into their backseat, but it did look odd the way he just popped up!  He popped up like a jack-in-the box!
