I agree with you again. It's been so long since we've seen him that I don't see the point in "taking a break." Why not go for the divorce and be done with it? Then the actor could go back to his Robert Scorpio ways on GH! (Which I haven't watched in ages, but I like Robert Scorpio way better than Colin Atkinson!)
