Jessica Collins (Avery) did one at the end of today's episode. And she tweeted the same thing:If you or someone you know have been sexually assaulted, help is available – please call 1-800-656-HOPE or visit http://rainn.org @RAINN01

Sage Newman crashed her car and died on Friday, April 29, while using her phone, leaving agitated messages, dropping her phone and reaching for it. Today, Monday May 2, Paul Williams gave a public service announcement about the danger of distracted driving. In last week's paper I read an article about the huge increase of traffic fatalities due to distracted driving while using phones and texting. This was a timely storyline.

It's a great thing to see the daytime TV industry use it's power to address issues like these.

At the end of Y&R today, Jack made a public service announcement about Alzheimer's Disease. He said more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and gave the website alz.org. Dina's Alzheimer's Disease is certainly a timely topic.

This might have been a coincidence since it was a commercial in the middle of the show, and there weren't any Y&R actors/actresses making an announcement at the end of the show. However, given Billy's storyline about gambling, I think the commercial counts.
If you or someone you know has a gambling issue, help is available. Call 1-877-MY-LIMIT or check out OPGR.org.

I just looked at the web site to see what it is, and OPGR stands for Oregon Problem Gambling Resource. I exited pretty quickly because a chat box came up where some counselor offered to chat about my gambling problem. LOL! (Dude! I was just looking to see what OPGR stands for!)

We saw under-age Faith drinking and then driving today. Then she crashed at the end of the show. Nick Newman made a public service announcement about under-age drinking and driving, and he said help can be found at MADD. ORG.
