From the February 15, 2011 issue of Soap Opera Digest (p. 9): Y&R's Phyllis And Jack Team Up To Help SharonPhyllis and Jack urge Adam and Sharon to follow Victor's trail to Hawaii in order to find clues that could clear Sharon of murder charges. Both Adam and Sharon are wary of their real intentions, so Phyllis and Jack decide to go themselves. "Phyllis and Jack don't buy Victor's story that he has no knowledge of what happened to Skye," outlines Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner. "They believe that there is a much bigger mystery to be solved and they are determined to track down what happened."
On the Big Island, Jack encounters Chester (the surfer dude Jack talked to on his previous trip), who has surprising news about Koa, the owner of the general store. "Chester tells them that Koa won the lottery and used all of his winnings to go have a fabulous new life, and he isn't going to spend his time making shaved ices anymore," chuckles Hamner. "He sold the general store and has gone off to travel the world."
Suspecting Koa's sudden windfall came from Victor, the sleuths decide to try and track down Koa. Back on the mainland, Adam finally finds Skye's foreign bank accounts and comes up with his own scheme to rescue Sharon: making it look like his ex is still alive. "Adam is going to use Skye's history as a way to create reasonable doubt, so there would be no way for a prosecuting attorney to prove that Sharon is guilty," says Hamner. "Skye did fake her death before, and it's entirely possible that she has done this again. So Adam is going to create a trail that will be discovered, creating the appearance that Skye is out there somewhere living under yet another assumed identity. But the plan is not without its dangers. It's a clever plan, but it's not a perfect plan."
Meanwhile, Nick contacts the staff at the house in Colorado where Victor was supposedly staying while Sharon was in Hawaii with Skye, and learns that no one in Telluride saw Victor because he gave them all time off. Teases Hamner, "There's a question mark about how far Nick will go for Sharon and his loyalty to his father...."
