From the March 8, 2011 issue of Soap Opera Weekly (p. 4):

Will Adam Betray Victor?

Sharon urges Adam to go against Victor this week, but could it cost Sharon her freedom?

"Adam is a mulitdimensional person who has a very, very dark side and a light side," observes co-head writer Scott Hamner.  "Sharon sees the better part of him.  His love for Sharon is selfless and is really all about making sure that she is okay, even if that means perjuring himself and going to jail.  He's willing to make a deal with Victor if it will get Sharon off from these murder charges."

The drama begins with Adam testifying that he forged the newer trust fund documents.  Nick and Victoria insist that Adam is lying, but the judge allows the documents into evidence and orders a recess.  Meanwhile, Phyllis updates Jack, who is convinced that Victor and Adam are up to no good.  Nick visits Sharon and informs her that Adam is lying for Victor.  Sharon makes it clear that she doesn't support what Adam is doing.  Later, Sharon tells Adam about the visit.  "Adam is not happy about Nick and Sharon's connecting in any way," says Hamner.  "But in terms of his love for Sharon, and belief in her love for him, they're very solid right now.  Adam does not doubt Sharon.  So his concerns are more about the negative impact that Nick could have on how Sharon is feeling."

Sharon tries to reason with Adam and explain why he shouldn't provide any aid to Victor.  "The argument that Sharon makes with Adam is that he has to stop seeing himself as merely the guy who is willing to do any lowdown thing as long as he gets what he wants and, instead, see himself in a way that she sees him:  as someone who does the right thing, and can walk with his head held high.  So Adam is stuck with this very complicated dilemma of walking the walk that Sharon is telling him that he should walk--or lying and being the conniving person, which is alll that Victoria and Nick see when they look at him.  If he helps Sharon, he kind of proves Victoria and Nick right in their worst views of him," points out Hamner, "and yet, how can he not go ahead and do whatever it takes to save Sharon?"

The dilemma becomes even bigger for Adam when Sharon insists that he go back to the court and change his story.  Will Adam turn on Victor?
