From the June 14, 2011 issue of Soap Opera Weekly (p. 17):

Tough Times For Abby And Ashley

Despite the restraining order to stay away from Tucker, Ashley slips into his hospital room for a secret visit.  However, when Tucker's monitors go off, Ashley is suspected of tampering with her fiancé's life support.  Her bail is then quickly revoked and she is hauled off to jail.

Jack soon shows up with the news that Tucker's condition is stable and there is no evidence of foul play.  Still, Ashley has to keep cooling her heels behind bars for violating the restraining order.  Jack then shares that Katherine has offered Jabot's CEO seat to Victoria, but he's determined to change La Chancellor's mind.  "Even though Jack understands the degree of tragedy here, he can't stop thinking about his father's company," says Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner.  "He's not blind to how Ashley is consumed by her concern for Tucker, but he's going to dive in and try to get his hands on Jabot whenever the opportunity presents itself."

An annoyed Ashley tells her brother that he's on his own with this battle, but after he leaves, Abby shows up with a startling claim.  "Abby says she has a clear memory of what happened the night Tucker was almost killed," explains Hamner.  "Ashley sticks to her story and insists that Abby is not remembering correctly, but Abby has a completely clear recall and knows she was driving.  Now, she's really overwhelmed by guilt."

Ashley freaks when Abby leaves to make a full confession.  "Abby wastes no time in going to the DA and telling him that she's responsible," says Hamner.  "However, he doesn't believe her.  Since Abby set up this situation that resulted in Tucker almost being killed, Spencer just thinks it's guilt that is motivating her to try and save her mother."

A frustrated Abby returns to jail, and Ashley hides her relief that Spencer threw out the confession.  But Abby is determined not to let Ashley pay for a crime she didn't commit.  "Abby is overcome by remorse and the need to make things right," states Hamner.  "It's very frustrating for Abby, and we're going to see that frustration level escalate in the days to come."

And when Abby is frustrated--look out!

Abby Confesses!

Just as Ashley is jailed for violating the protection order to stay away from Tucker, Abby has total recall of the night he was run down.  "It all comes back to her, even though Ashley insists that Abby is not remembering correctly and that Ashley's account is what actually happened," says Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner.  "However, Abby knows she was driving and not Ashley. Now, Abby is doubly overwhelmed by guilt because her mother is in jail."

Ashley panics when Abby declares that she won't allow Ash to take the blame for something she didn't do and charges out.  Next stop:  the DA's office, where Abby makes a full confession.  But when Abby later returns to the jail, she has surprising news.  "Abby tells Ashley that Spencer didn't believe her," explains Hamner.  "He thinks it's just her guilt over trying to set up Tucker that is motivating her to try and save her mother."

Ashley insists that her daughter's memory is flawed, but Abby has her mind made up.  "She is going to make everything even more complicated by her determination to force people to believe her," says Hamner.  "To that end, she makes a very grandstand type of gesture that will definitely draw attention."
