From the March 24, 2009 issue of Soap Opera Digest (p. eight): Y&R's Phyllis And Sharon Face OffPhyllis and Sharon's rivalry heats up when Phyllis catches her nemesis with a new man: Billy.
When Billy calls Sharon, she informs him that she sent him a text message inviting him over. Billy replies that he never got it. Turns out that Sharon accidentally sent the message to Nick instead... and Phyllis intercepts it. Understandably, Phyllis is furious and pays Sharon a visit at her GCAC suite. "Phyllis goes over there to tell Sharon to stop calling Nick," sighs Michelle Stafford (Phyllis). "To Phyllis, Sharon seems to keep creating these situations that lure Nick in. She's sick of it."
When Sharon demands that Phyllis leave, Phyllis obliges... but gets an eyeful when Billy arrives at Sharon's suite. "They begin making out when Billy comes to the door, so Phyllis quickly puts two and two together," chuckles Stafford. "It becomes pretty obvious that they've been sleeping together. She feels bad for Jack because this always seems to happen to him, but mostly, she thinks that Sharon is a tramp. When she sees Sharon making out with Billy, Phyllis is like, 'Hold the phone!' "
A furious Phyllis vows to make sure Nick finds out exactly what Sharon has been up to. She asks a bellboy at the hotel to contact Nick, saying that Sharon needs him right away, "so that Nick will get there and catch Sharon with Billy," explains Stafford. "She thinks that if he knows the truth, that Sharon's with someone else, he'll stop giving her all this attention."
By the time Nick does arrive, Billy has left to take care of a situation involving the custody battle for Cordelia. Although Sharon isn't caught by Nick, she realizes that Phyllis set her up. Later, a confrontation ensues at the tack house. "Phyllis asks Sharon if Jack knows what she's up to and they argue over everything," Stafford says. "Sharon starts crying and then says, 'Please don't tell Jack about
Brad.' Phyllis is like, 'Brad? Sharon, you need help.' But it's not like Phyllis has a lot of sympathy for her. She doesn't care."
When Phyllis's back is turned, Sharon swipes the "See No Evil" monkey figurine that Nick had given Phyllis when they first hooked up. Sharon then calls Billy and tells him it's over between them. Meanwhile, Phyllis realizes that her knickknack is missing... and concludes that Sharon stole it.
