(May 2009)

Thank you to Rose... this month's guest columnist!

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good :  Patrick Murphy is the most authentic character in Genoa City!  Who doesn’t love Murphy?  He’s the perfect mate for Katherine!  Murphy catches fish for dinner and then turns into Prince Charming!  He sees the good in Katherine’s young friends, Kevin and Amber.  Best of all, the Korean War vet outfoxed the sexual and manipulative advances of Jill in her blatant attempt to influence the Governor.  Murphy and the Governor bonded over honorable memories and a precious souvenir gun, (real male bonding!) winning the hearts of all.  I no longer think Victor Newman is the most influential man in Genoa City.  I think it is Murphy!  I bet Murphy could even outfox Victor Newman!

The Bad :  Heather Stevens apparently belongs to the exclusive group of brain-dead women of Genoa City.  The beautiful ADA certainly has a double standard.  Everyone else better toe the line, or Ms. Perfect will send them to prison.  Yet Heather repeatedly visited Adam even while Victor Newman was screaming in her face to stay out of his house.  Then she proceeded to steal Victor’s liquor while half-dressed in Adam’s shirt.  Victor should have had her arrested for trespassing. (I would have cheered!)  Genoa City has an ADA who thinks it’s OK to romp in bed with a criminal who is still serving a sentence, and then bring him alcohol.  Maybe someone should check if Heather really went to college or just sent away for that degree.  Could she be a fake???   Let’s get Paul right on that matter!

The Ugly :  Sorry, but it is Mac.  This woman may be a talented actress; I don’t know since I am not familiar with her work.  However, I do know Mackenzie Browning, and this is not the correct actress for the role.  This woman looks too old, too haggard, too lifeless, and too wooden-faced.  There is no way that playboy Billy Abbott would look at her twice.  The real Mac does not have to wear too low a bodice or hair extensions.  The real Mac glows with beauty both inside and out.  The real Mac always had presence. I’m sorry, but this character is not believable to long-time viewers.  There you have it—The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!
