(August 2008)

Peanut Gallery
Thank you to Rose... this month's guest columnist!

Warning!  Falling in love in Genoa City might be hazardous to your health!  It might even result in your death!  Just look at the list of all those who have loved and lost lately:

Jill and Ji Min—Ji Min is dead.

Colleen and Adrian—Barely speaking.

Nikki and David—David is dead.

Amber and Daniel—Broken-hearted.

Sabrina and Victor—Sabrina is dead.

Perhaps Gloria with her new-found desire to possess Jabot Cosmetics can whip all of Genoa City into shape.  Let Glo add some of her Love Potion #9 to the Jabot line, or sprinkle some love potion into Crimson Lights' coffee; I don't care--let her add it to the Genoa City water system.  At least Gloria understands passion!

What is wrong with the men of GC?  Lauren wore the sexiest dress on daytime TV to the gala, but did we see Michael even look twice at her?  That man should have been following his wife around like a puppy dog, drooling with happiness, and barking at any man who got too close.  Sabrina and Victor were head over heels in love, but did we ever see a steamy pool scene?  Didn't anyone tell Sabrina that true Newmans prance around the pool in their bikinis to celebrate the 4th?  Maybe Adam could have leered and gotten thrown in the pool for his efforts.  Nick and Phyllis might as well be brother and sister.  Victoria and J.T. are old before their time.  Sharon of the beautiful body probably wears granny undies now, little does Jack notice.

Here at The Colonnade Room we can’t even run our “Sizzling Hottest Female and Male Contest” of summer, 2008.  Probably mob guy Walter would win for having hit on Heather.  We’d have to disqualify Heather on grounds her hair is back up in a bun.

I once again quote the wise comment made by Eva Longoria a couple years ago, “Sex is always better than violence on TV.”  Would someone please tell that to Y&R?
